Berkshire Theatre Group is Seeking Local Non-Equity Actors for
Upcoming Community Production of Charles Dickens’
A Christmas Carol at The Unicorn Theatre

Berkshire Theatre Group seeks local non-Equity actors of all ethnicities and genders for its upcoming community production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, adapted by Eric Hill and directed by David Adkins and Isadora Wolfe, running December 4 through December 21 at The Unicorn Theatre located in Stockbridge, MA.

BTG is seeking local youth (Grades 4 and up) and adult actors to fill roles in the production. Auditions will take place on Tuesday, October 7 from 6pm–9pm with call backs as needed on Thursday, October 9 from 6–9pm at The Colonial Theatre located at 111 South Street, Pittsfield, MA. A special audition for youth (Grades 1–3) will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 6pm.

Auditions are by appointment only and must be scheduled by 5pm September 27. Audition appointments and registration can be made by emailing Allison Rachele Bayles, Director of Education, at allison@berkshiretheatre.org. Auditionees must be available to perform in all performances. Please specify if you have a youth audition for Thursday, October 9 when scheduling an appointment.

Actors should come prepared to read excerpts from the script, which will be provided at the audition. Actors should also have a short section from a traditional Christmas carol, which they could be asked to sing a cappella. 16 bars works well.

Rehearsals for A Christmas Carol will begin on Thursday, November 6 and be held after school, evenings and weekends with one day off each week. Rehearsals will be held in Pittsfield, MA at The Colonial Theatre. Attending all rehearsals will be required. Multiple rehearsal conflicts will not be honored. The production runs from December 4 through December 21 with 10am student matinees planned on Tuesday, December 9 (with snow day makeup on December 11) and December 16 (with snow day makeup on December 18).
