In the past five years, Pops Peterson has grown from a blogging cartoonist to a celebrated fine artist whose works have been featured in galleries, museums and national publications and broadcasts, as well as parading down the streets in protest demonstrations. Although best known for his award-winning series, “Reinventing Rockwell,” in which he repaints the works of Norman Rockwell as if they were created in the present day, with a diverse cast of characters, Pops Peterson’s art is profoundly varied.
Pop Art to Protest Art–The Works of Pops Peterson will be on view from April 21–May 29.
This event is part of Art Week.
Originally a web series featuring artists expressing various points of view and social commentary, the No Boundaries in Art series continues on and off the stage.
